[ad_1] Parimatch Sports, a high-quality sportswear brand inspired by the world’s top athletes, is proud to announce the launch of its new project—Inside the Game. This innovative series will present diverse content formats that bring the brand's core message, Inspired by Champions, to life while offering an in-depth look into the personalities of its brand ambassadors and endorsers. Parimatch Sports Presents: Exclusive Interview with Cricket Star Nikhil Chaudhary The debut event kicked off with a livestream featuring Indian cricket star Nikhil Chaudhary, hosted by renowned cricket commentator and Star Sports anchor Tanay Tiwari. Nikhil’s story is one of resilience, determination, and passion. From his humble beginnings in Punjab to playing for the Hobart Hurricanes in Australia’s premier T20 league, his journey embodies the spirit of never giving up. Here are the highlights from the interview, the full version of which you can watch on the Parimatch Sports Instagram channel. From Uber Eats to the Big Bash League During the conversation, Nikhil reflected on his unexpected path to professional cricket in Australia. He shared how a holiday turned into a life-changing decision to stay and pursue cricket during the pandemic. “I didn’t move to Australia for cricket initially. It started as a holiday, but COVID-19 changed everything in 2020. With cricket suspended in India, I decided to stay and explore opportunities in Australia. I loved the cricket culture in Australia and saw it as a chance to grow—not just as a player but as a person,” Nikhil revealed. “It wasn’t an easy choice to leave the domestic circuit in India, but I’m grateful I took that leap.” A defining moment came when Nikhil received the call confirming his signing with the Hobart Hurricanes. “I was delivering Uber Eats when my manager told me I’d been signed. It was surreal—I canceled the delivery, called my family, and celebrated with my friends. That moment validated all the hard work I had put in,” he shared. Staying True to Roots Despite immersing himself in Australian cricket culture, Nikhil has remained deeply connected to his Punjabi heritage. His Hobart Hurricanes teammates, including Tim David and Ben McDermott, affectionately call him "Paji" and "Bhai," celebrating his roots. "I always carry my culture with me," he said. "I call Tim David ‘Paji,’ and he calls me the same. It’s about embracing who you are while building bonds in new environments." When asked about balancing cultures, Nikhil emphasized: "I’m all about being authentic. If I meet someone from India or Punjab, I speak to them in Hindi or Punjabi. It’s a way of staying grounded." Hard Work and Perseverance Nikhil’s journey to success was anything but straightforward. During his early years in Australia, he worked multiple jobs to support himself. "I was doing cricket coaching, working with Australia Post, and delivering Uber Eats. It wasn’t about money—it was about chasing my passion while standing on my own feet," he recalled. He shared the challenges of leaving the domestic cricket circuit in India, saying: "It wasn’t an easy choice, but I believed it was the right step for my growth as a player and a person." Bonds That Matter: Rishabh, Arshdeep, and Hobart Hurricanes Nikhil expressed his gratitude toward Hobart Hurricanes’ senior players, including Chris Jordan, Matthew Wade, and Tim David, for their invaluable guidance. "Chris is like a big brother to me. He helps me understand the game better and guides me every step of the way," he said. His bonds with former domestic teammates such as Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep Singh remain strong. "We’ve been playing together since we were kids. It’s amazing to see their growth and stay connected," he shared. Inspiring the Next Generation Through Inside the Game, Nikhil hopes to inspire others with his story of resilience.
"If I can motivate even one person to follow their dream, that’s the greatest reward. It doesn’t matter where you come from or what your circumstances are—just start working toward your goals." Nikhil emphasized the importance of persistence and self-belief: "Your dream should be the first thing you focus on every morning. Confidence and consistency are key." Big Plans Inspired by Australia Cricket and IPL Discussing his ultimate ambition, Nikhil shared: "I want to represent Australia. I’ve given myself three years to make it happen. Playing for the Hobart Hurricanes is just the beginning. I’m focused on giving my all to reach the next level.” Nikhil also spoke about his aspirations for the IPL, revealing a deep admiration for Virat Kohli and RCB. "Bangalore is my favorite city after Punjab, and Virat Kohli is my inspiration. I’d love to play for RCB someday," he said. The Role of Regional Content in India's Streaming Dominance
India's rise as the world's biggest streaming market is not solely due to its vast population and growing internet user base. A crucial factor driving this growth is the increasing demand for regional content. As streaming platforms recognize and cater to India's diverse linguistic and cultural landscape, regional content has become a pivotal component of their strategies. This article explores the role of regional content in India's streaming dominance, highlighting its impact on audience engagement, the success stories of regional productions, and the future of regional content in the digital entertainment ecosystem.
1. The Linguistic and Cultural Diversity of India:
India is a mosaic of languages and cultures, with over 1,600 languages spoken across the country. Each state and region has its own distinct cultural identity, which is reflected in its entertainment preferences. While Hindi and English content have traditionally dominated the mainstream media, there is a vast audience that prefers content in their native languages. Recognizing this, streaming platforms have increasingly invested in regional content to tap into these diverse markets.
2. Major Streaming Platforms Investing in Regional Content:
Global and local streaming platforms are expanding their libraries to include a wide range of regional content. For instance, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have produced and acquired numerous regional films and series. Netflix’s "Paava Kadhaigal" (Tamil) and Amazon Prime’s "C U Soon" (Malayalam) are prime examples of successful regional content that have garnered critical acclaim and substantial viewership.
Local platforms like Hoichoi, which focuses on Bengali content, and Sun NXT, catering to South Indian languages, have also seen significant growth. These platforms offer a plethora of movies, TV shows, and original productions in regional languages, attracting a loyal user base.
3. The Success Stories of Regional Productions:
Several regional productions have not only achieved commercial success but also gained critical acclaim and international recognition. For instance, the Tamil film "Super Deluxe" on Netflix received praise for its storytelling and direction, reaching audiences beyond Tamil Nadu. Similarly, the Telugu film "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo," available on Sun NXT, became a blockbuster hit, showcasing the potential of regional cinema.
Regional web series are also making waves. Amazon Prime’s "The Family Man," though primarily in Hindi, incorporates significant portions in Tamil and Telugu, resonating with a broader audience. This blend of languages within a single series reflects India's linguistic diversity and the streaming platforms’ efforts to cater to it.
4. The Impact on Audience Engagement and Subscription Growth:
The availability of regional content has led to higher audience engagement and subscription growth for streaming platforms. Viewers are more likely to subscribe to a service that offers content in their native language. For instance, a Tamil-speaking viewer in Chennai is more inclined to subscribe to a platform that provides a robust library of Tamil movies and shows.
This strategy has proven effective for platforms like Disney+ Hotstar, which offers a mix of regional and international content. Their exclusive rights to broadcast the Indian Premier League (IPL) in multiple languages have significantly boosted subscriptions, demonstrating the power of regional content in driving user engagement.
5. The Role of Local Talent and Production Houses:
The rise of regional content has also given a platform to local talent and production houses. Filmmakers, actors, and writers from different regions are now able to showcase their work to a national and international audience. This democratization of content creation has led to a surge in high-quality regional productions, further enriching the streaming libraries.
Production houses like Arka Media Works in Telugu cinema and D2R Films in Tamil cinema are producing content that competes with Bollywood in terms of quality and storytelling. Streaming platforms are partnering with these local production houses to bring regional stories to the forefront.
6. Future Trends in Regional Content:
The future of regional content in India's streaming market looks promising. With the continuous growth of internet penetration and smartphone usage, more users from rural and semi-urban areas are coming online, increasing the demand for content in regional languages. Streaming platforms are likely to further expand their regional content libraries, offering more original productions and exclusive releases.
Emerging technologies like AI and machine learning will also play a role in enhancing the regional content experience. Personalized recommendations based on language preferences and viewing habits will make it easier for users to discover regional content that resonates with them.
Regional content has been a driving force behind India's dominance in the global streaming market. By catering to the diverse linguistic and cultural preferences of Indian audiences, streaming platforms have successfully engaged a vast and varied user base. The success of regional films and series highlights the immense potential of this segment, and the future looks bright as platforms continue to invest in regional content. As the demand for localized content grows, India’s position as the world's biggest streaming market is set to strengthen further.
We would love to hear from you! What are your favorite regional shows or movies? How has regional content influenced your streaming habits? Share your thoughts and recommendations in the comments below.

RCB ka baap kaun hai : Kohli's Reign as the Father Figure
In the thrilling realm of Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket, one question never fails to captivate fans: "RCB ka baap kaun hai?" Translated to English, it asks, "Who is the father of RCB?" This colloquial expression in Hindi encapsulates the curiosity and passion surrounding the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise.
While RCB boasts a star-studded lineup and an ardent fan base, its quest for IPL glory has often been elusive. However, amid the fervent debates and speculations, one figure consistently emerges as a contender for the title of RCB's true "baap" or father: Virat Kohli.
Kohli, the prolific Indian cricketer and former captain of RCB, has been the backbone of the team for over a decade. His leadership, determination, and unparalleled batting prowess have shaped RCB's identity and elevated the franchise to new heights.
Despite the absence of an IPL trophy in RCB's cabinet, Kohli's unwavering commitment and indomitable spirit continue to inspire hope and admiration among fans. His legacy transcends victories and defeats, embodying the essence of RCB's resilience and passion.
As the IPL saga unfolds with each season, the question of RCB's father remains open to interpretation. Yet, one cannot deny the enduring influence and significance of Virat Kohli in the annals of RCB's history. In the realm of cricket, his legacy as RCB's "baap" is etched in the hearts of millions.

[ad_1] Supratim Das for Mumbai City FC (PC: Supratim Das Insta) Before the current Indian Super League (ISL) season, Mumbai City FC signed 19-year-old midfielder Supratim Das from Reliance Foundation Young Champs on a three-year deal. A pivotal player for the Young Champs, Supratim helped them clinch the Sub-Junior I-League title in 2018-19 and secure a runner-up finish in the MFA Super Division League in 2022-23. His development also included exposure trips with RFYC to Spain (2017-2019) and Japan (2024) Although his opportunities with Mumbai City FC have been limited so far, Supratim shared his journey in an exclusive chat with RevSportz. He talked about his experiences, what he has learned, coach Petr Kratky, making his debut in front of Mumbai fans, favourite players, and Kolkata giants, among other topics. Excerpts: Q: How has been the experience so far to play for Mumbai City, limited but the experience of training regularly with top players, how is it? A: It is like dream come true for me. Any 19-year-old player would have only dreamt like this. Having training sessions and sharing the same pitch with experienced players like Jon Toral, Brandon Fernandes is a big experience that I am getting. I always try to learn and enjoy the game as much as possible from them. It has been great so far. Q: How has the transition been from RFYC to a senior team in ISL and how the professional methods at RFYC academy helped make the transition smooth? A: The academy has played a huge role so far. I came to Mumbai when I was 11-year-old. I was too little to know anything, did not know how to speak Hindi and English, coming from a middle-class family. Then, here, they took care, got my schooling, training and all facilities under good quality foreign coaches and discipline also. I was for eight years at the academy. So, it helped me strengthen my base, both football-wise and as a human being also. But when you talk about transition, obviously difference is there between an academy and a huge professional club like Mumbai City. However, football-wise, principles are quite similar and that has helped me get settled quickly. It has also helped me focus in more details and in strengthening my technical and tactical abilities. Honestly, there are many things I’m yet to learn but the academy has definitely helped in developing a strong base for me. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Supratim Das during his ISL debut vs Odisha FC (PC: Supratim Das Insta) Q: Can you elaborate on the experience of playing in Spain and Japan? A: These opportunities are very important for young and grassroot-level players. I went to Spain four times and Japan once. There is a huge difference in the Indian and foreign culture. When I played against big clubs like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, I got to know about their facilities, and how they train. They start from a very young age and that concept is yet to come in India. Our academy has already started to follow that concept by strengthening basics from a young age. If you see the European Leagues like La Liga and the Premier League, there are so many young players. Even if you do not reach that level despite having potential, these learnings should help you here. Q: Words on Petr Kratky, the one aspect of training at RFYC that helped you a lot to settle into Petr Kratky’s system at Mumbai City FC A: For a young player, a coach’s role is very crucial and he (Kratky) has been very supportive, whether it is in the training or off the pitch. He makes me feel at home. He sometimes gives feedbacks and points out the areas where I need to improve more. For any young player to grow, a healthy relationship with your coach is really pivotal. So, it has helped me settle in and I enjoy trainings under him. Q: How was the experience of making your ISL debut in front of the home crowd? A: At a very young age when I decided to become a professional footballer, just like every other young player, I had the dream of playing at the highest level.
It was a great experience and I was getting goosebumps. I think all young players should experience that feeling. The match (vs Odisha FC) was also very high intensity as we were tied at 1-1. Although, it was for a few minutes, but still, it motivates me and helps in boosting my confidence. I feel like that it has been a good start for me and motivates me to work even harder every day. Q: Your roots are from West Bengal. So, you are aware of the craze for East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting. Your views on the craze for the Kolkata giants. A: Obviously, Kolkata means East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, and Mohammedan Sporting. My family loves football and that has helped me a lot in generating the love and passion for this sport. Whenever a derby was there, a fight used to occur between my mother and father because my mother is a Mohun Bagan fan while my father is an East Bengal fan. It was difficult for me to choose one because of that. I have watched a few derbies from the stands also. So many fans (almost one lakh back then) watching the game. It motivated me more to get that kind of experience one day. Supratim Das during training sessions (PC: Supratim Das Insta) Q: But still as a fan, any of those two clubs that you supported back then? A: Then, I used to support my mother. I was inclined a bit towards Mohun Bagan. Q: Favourite player or midfielder for you from India and overall? And why? A: As I play as an attacking midfielder, I love Sahal Abdul Samad. He is very creative and calm on the ball. So, I like his playing style. I also like Brandon, my teammate also. He is a great individual to look up to, be it technical or tactical quality. So, I am very happy to share the pitch with him and observing him closely. One of my aspects has been being the set-piece specialist and if you see Brandon, he is the current set-piece specialist for India and Mumbai City. So, that has been a big learning for me in order to enhance that aspect. Q: Words on Chhangte? His work ethics and all, inspirational? A: When I was at the academy, my father always used to tell me to look up to Chhangte and now, after two years, I am in the same team with him. He is a top professional and there are many things that you can learn from him. See, behind a performance on the pitch, a lot of hard work and discipline are there, and Chhangte is the best example. A true inspiration for young players, especially like me. He is very disciplined, humble and helpful. Q: The ultimate dream; donning that Indian jersey? A: Absolutely. For any player, it is a dream to don that national team jersey, representing your country at the highest level. So, let us see. Q: Final question. Any foreign club that you follow passionately? A: Manchester City. Recently, it has been tough but they will come back.
